AmberTREE is a team of experienced engineers who have been developing and maintaining DPlan, an advanced software for distribution systems (www.dplan.net).

Staff engineers are experienced engineers with a solid academic education (post-Master's level) who have been involved in solving real-life problems.
They have presented and discussed solutions with clients and work together as an A-team of engineers to satisfy the client demands and to advance DPlan.
Our name
Amber is the Classical Latin term for the Classical Greek term elektron, which evokes ideas of sunshine, light, and ... electricity.
Thales of Miletus reported that by rubbing fur on amber one could get electric charge. The charge could attract light objects, and if the amber is rubbed for long enough one could get an electric spark.
TREE is an acronym for "Tecnologias para Redes de Energia Elétrica" (Electric Energy Network Technologies). This acronym brings forth the idea of tree and tree is a very powerful structure for computation.
DPlan, a major application supported by AmberTREE, makes broad use of trees for electrical network representation, analysis and optimization.
